Sir Stuart Hampson
Sir Stuart Hampson (John Lewis)Stuart Hampson read modern languages at St John's College, Oxford, before beginning a career in the Civil Service. He rose to become private secretary to the Minister for Consumer Affairs and then to the Secretary of State for Trade. He joined the John Lewis Partnership in 1982, running the Southampton store Tyrrell & Green and becoming the Partnership's fourth chairman in 1993. He retired from the John Lewis Partnership in March 2007.
