Rebekah Brooks (Sun)Rebekah Wade joined the News of the World as a researcher in 1989, rising through the ranks to become deputy editor. In 1998 she transferred to the Sun to become deputy editor, returning to edit the News of the World just two years later. Her tenure at the top-selling weekly was punctuated by a high-profile campaign to name and shame known paedophiles. Renowned as a consummate networker with celebrities,
businessmen and politicians, Rebekah Wade moved back to the Sun in January 2003 to become the paper's first female editor.
She was chief executive of News International from 2009-2011.
