Perween Warsi
Perween Warsi (S&A Foods)Perween Warsi, dubbed ‘Britain's curry queen', began making finger foods in her Derby home in 1986 after becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the quality of Indian food available in British supermarkets. The breakthrough for S&A Foods came in 1987 when ASDA agreed to put some dishes to a taste test. The popularity of ethnic dishes was
growing and supermarkets were looking for authentic ranges. S&A Foods is now a £70 million operation, employing 800 staff and making foods for major supermarket chains.
