Jenny Watson

Jenny Watson (EOC)

Jenny Watson started her career as a secretary before taking a degree in communications at Sheffield Hallam University, followed by a master's in history at the University of Westminster. She went on to specialise in the not-for-profit sector, mainly in human rights at organisations such as Liberty, Charter88 and the Fawcett Society. She joined the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) Board in 1999 as a commissioner, becoming deputy chair in 2000 and chair in 2005. She was a founding director of Global Partners and Associates, a consultancy focusing on democracy, governance and human rights. In October 2007, the EOC was merged with the new Commission for Equality and Human Rights.
