Andy Hornby
Andy Hornby (HBOS)Andy Hornby was educated at Oxford University and Harvard Business School. In 1996 he was headhunted by ASDA's then CEO Archie Norman to become director of corporate development and went on to become MD of ASDA's clothing business. Four years later, Andy Hornby got his second big break, when once again the headhunters came calling and recruited him as head of retail at Halifax. In January 2006, aged just thirty-nine, he became chief executive of HBOS, a position he held until the takeover by Lloyds TSB Group.
On 1st July 2009, Hornby became Group Chief Executive of Alliance Boots. On 25th March 2011, Andy resigned as Chief Executive of Alliance Boots
